Playing in a band changes everything.

The Musician’s Den Rock Band Program is for musicians who already have basic proficiency on their instrument and are ready to take the next step—rehearsing with a band, practicing independently and performing live.

Each 90-minute Sunday session begins with a 15-minute circle-up featuring musicianship and performance workshops, team building and announcements. Students then rehearse with their individual band, led by a dedicated professional coach.

Bands develop their sound, strengthen their skills and prepare for live performances. Students may audition with friends or be matched with musicians who have compatible skill levels, musical interests and availability.

Rock Band students learn to:

• Play confidently with other musicians
• Learn and refine their individual parts
• Break down songs and arrangements
• Improve timing, tone, dynamics and listening skills
• Rehearse and communicate effectively
• Use microphones, amplifiers and sound equipment
• Build stage presence and performance confidence
• Prepare for live shows and professional sound checks

Along the way, students become more confident, dependable and connected musicians.

Every band works toward live performance opportunities, including:

• Semester Rock Band Showcases
• Local venues
• Community events and festivals
• Studio events
• Additional shows for performance-ready bands

Performance opportunities vary depending on venue availability and each band’s readiness.

New students begin with a friendly, low-pressure audition. We’ll learn about their experience, musical interests and goals, then help find the band where they’ll be most successful.

Placement is based on:

• Age and skill level
• Instrument and experience
• Musical interests
• Rehearsal availability
• Current openings and band compatibility

Students should be able to play basic songs on their instrument, practice independently and commit to rehearsals and performances.

Private lessons are strongly encouraged because band rehearsals focus on playing together—not individual instruction.

Active Rock Band students receive 10% off monthly tuition for weekly private lessons. The discount does not apply to lesson packs and cannot be combined with other offers.
