FALL SEMESTER: AUGUST 10 - DECEMBER 20, 2026

Young children do not have to wait until they are ready for private lessons to start making music.

In KidzRock, students rotate between guitar, keyboard and drums, and everyone sings. They learn age-appropriate songs and experience the excitement of playing in a real band with other young musicians.

No previous experience, instrument purchase or home practice is required. Students use studio instruments during class and learn and practice their parts together as a group. This makes KidzRock a fun and easy way for children to explore different instruments and discover what they enjoy before choosing one instrument for private lessons.

What They'll Learn

Students begin developing rhythm, steady beat, early music-reading skills and basic technique on guitar, keyboard and drums.

Playing in a band also builds listening skills, fine-motor and hand-eye coordination, confidence and teamwork. Students learn to follow cues, take turns and understand how different musical parts work together to create a song.

Music Video & Live Performance

Halfway through the semester, students will create a short music video to share with family and friends.

At the end of the semester, the band will perform live in a fun and encouraging environment. These positive early performance experiences help young musicians feel comfortable, capable and proud of what they have accomplished.
