STUDIO POLICIES - THE MUSICIAN’S DEN

(updated July 2024)

SEMESTER TUITION (Fall/Winter - Winter/Spring):

• Dates: Mid-August to mid-December; Mid-January to mid-May.
• Lessons and Group Classes: Includes 16 lessons/classes per semester. The number of lessons/classes each month varies due to school holidays. Some months may have 2-3 lessons while others could have 4-5, adding up to 16 lessons/classes in total. 
• Payment options: Pay in full or in five monthly installments. Monthly billing by default.
• Late Fee: A $25 late fee applies for payments received after the 10th of the month.
• Pro-Rated for Late Starters: Tuition pro-rated for students joining mid-semester.

SUMMER TUITION (June/July):

• Includes: 7 lessons/classes, adjusted for summer holidays.
• Payment options: Pay in full or in two monthly installments. Monthly billing by default.
• Late Fee: A $25 late fee applies for payments received after the 10th of the month.
• Pro-Rated for Late Starters: Tuition pro-rated for students joining mid-semester.
• Summer Camp Credit: Credits from summer lessons/classes applicable towards summer camps.

LESSON PACK TUITION:

• Validity: Must be used within the semester or summer session purchased.
• Flexibility: Lessons can be rescheduled with a 24-hour notice.
• Non-refundable: No refunds or credits for unused lessons.

ENROLLMENT CONTINUATION:

• Automatic Continuation: Enrollment automatically continues into the next semester or summer session, securing your current day and time slot.
• Billing: Billing will proceed on the first of each month unless discontinuation notice provided 30 days before the session starts.
• Slot Availability: Breaks will result in loss of preferred class/day/time.
• Summer Session Specifics: Not all classes offered; specifics available online and communicated via email.

HOLIDAYS:

• Studio closes during conventional school calendar breaks: Fall Break (one week), Thanksgiving week (one week), Spring Break (one week), July 4th week and 2-3 weeks between semesters/sessions.

STUDIO EVENTS:

• 2-3 per semester/summer session, including workshops and end-of-semester concerts.

CANCELLATION AND MISSED LESSONS/CLASSES:

• Lessons: 24-hour notice required for cancellations, with flexibility for sudden illness. Students are responsible for scheduling makeup lessons.
• Group Classes: No makeups for missed classes, but students may join another class if space is available.
• Refunds: No refunds for canceled or missed lessons/classes due to illness, vacations, or other absences.
• Substitute Instructor: May be provided if regular instructor is unavailable.
• Discontinuing Lessons/Classes: At least 30-day notice required. 

FLEX WEEK: 

• Purpose: An extra week added on to the semester/summer calendar allows skipping one session without requiring makeups, accommodating unexpected changes or weather issues.  

POLICY CHANGES:

• Notification: We may update policies; please check our website regularly.

PHOTO AND VIDEO RELEASE:

• Use of Media: We may use photos, short videos, or audio of students for promotion, identifying them only by first name. Opt-out available. 

HEALTH & SAFETY:

• Illness Policy: Students should not attend if they have symptoms of illness such as a cough, fever within the last 24 hours, or flu-like symptoms. Makeup lessons for illness can be rescheduled or conducted online.

CAMP LIABILITY WAIVER:

By registering for this camp, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Risk Acknowledgment: You understand that participation in the camp involves certain risks. These include, but are not limited to, physical injury, emotional stress, or property damage.
2. Release of Liability: You hereby release The Musician's Den, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, or damages that might arise from participation in the camp.
3. Medical Treatment: In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize camp staff to secure emergency medical care. You are responsible for any expenses that arise from such treatment.
4. Photo and Video Policy: You consent to the use of photographs and videos taken during the camp for promotional purposes by The Musician's Den, as outlined in our studio policies.
5. Compliance with Studio Policies: You agree to abide by all camp and studio policies provided at registration and understand that failure to comply with these policies may result in dismissal from camp without a refund.

This waiver is part of the registration process and by proceeding, you are affirming that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms.
