STUDIO POLICIES - THE MUSICIAN’S DEN (updated July 2025)
SEMESTER TUITION (FALL/WINTER & WINTER/SPRING):
- Schedule: Mid-August to mid-December and mid-January to mid-May.
- Includes: 16 lessons or classes per semester. Number of sessions varies each month due to holidays and closures.
- Closures: Fall Break, Thanksgiving week, Spring Break, and 2–3 weeks between semesters. No make-up lessons required for studio breaks.
SUMMER TUITION (June/July):
- Schedule: 7 lessons or classes during Summer Session.
- Closures: Week of July 4th. No make-up lessons required for studio breaks.
LESSON PACK TUITION:
- Flexibility: Ideal for busy families who need à la carte scheduling.
- Usage: All lessons must be used within the semester or session in which they are purchased. Lessons purchased during the last three weeks of a semester may carry over into the next semester (at teacher’s discretion).
- Rescheduling: Allowed with 24-hour notice. Students/parents can reschedule via our Fons scheduling system.
- Participation: Lesson-pack students may participate in studio events and performances if attending consistently and demonstrating preparedness (at teacher discretion).
TUITION POLICIES:
- Payment Options: Monthly billing is the default; full semester/session payment is also available.
- Late Enrollment: Tuition is prorated for students joining after the start of a session.
- Refunds: Tuition is non-refundable. No credits for missed or dropped lessons.
ENROLLMENT CONTINUATION:
- Automatic Re-enrollment: Students are automatically enrolled in the next semester or session unless we receive a 30-day notice.
- Hold Policy: Taking a break will release your time slot and preferred teacher.
- Summer Notes: Fewer class options may be available. Summer details will be provided in advance.
STUDIO EVENTS:
- Opportunities: Each semester/session typically includes at least one performance opportunity.
- Additional events may include workshops, informal showcases, or community pop-ups, depending on teacher availability and student interest.
CANCELLATIONS & MISSED LESSONS/CLASSES:
- Lessons: 24-hour notice required for cancellations. Flexible rescheduling for sudden illness. Students are responsible for scheduling makeup lessons.
- Group Classes: No makeups offered. Students may join another group if space allows.
- Refunds: No refunds for missed lessons due to illness, vacation, or absences.
- Substitute Instructor: A substitute may be assigned if the regular teacher is unavailable.
- Studio Cancellations: If the studio cancels, the lesson will be rescheduled.
- Discontinuation: 30-day notice required to discontinue lessons or classes.
FLEX WEEK:
- Bonus Week: One flex week is built into each semester or session to provide room for an unplanned absence or inclement weather. No makeup needed.
POLICY UPDATES:
- Notification: Studio policies may be updated at any time. Please check our website for the latest version.
COMMUNICATION:
- Communication with Coaches:
To keep communication streamlined, please do not exchange personal contact information with coaches.
- All communication should go through the studio admin or Fons messaging/conversations.
PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE:
- Media Use: We may use photos, videos, or recordings for promotion (first names only). To opt out, email admin@themusiciansden.net.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
- Illness Policy: Students must stay home with symptoms like fever or cough. Reschedule makeup lessons as needed.
GENERAL LIABILITY WAIVER:
- Assumed Risk: Participation in lessons, classes, or events involves some risk.
- Release of Liability: The Musician’s Den is not liable for injuries, stress, or property loss.
- Medical Care: Staff may secure emergency medical help if a guardian cannot be reached. All related costs are the guardian’s responsibility.
- Agreement: Enrollment confirms agreement to all studio policies. Non-compliance may result in dismissal without refund.

2025 SUMMER CAMP SECTION:
Payment & Refunds
- Tuition: Full payment is required to hold your child’s spot.
- Refunds: Available if canceled at least 7 days before camp starts, minus a $50 fee. After that, tuition is non-refundable.
Attendance & Behavior
- Participation: Campers must follow behavior guidelines. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in dismissal. No makeups for missed camp days.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
- Timeliness: Campers must be dropped off and picked up on time. Notify staff if someone else is handling pick-up.
Health & Safety
- Illness Policy: Sick campers must stay home. We reserve the right to send home campers showing signs of illness. All allergies and medical conditions must be disclosed upon registration.
Photo & Video Consent
- Media Use: Photos/videos may be used for documentation and promotional purposes. You may opt out on the registration form.
Instrument Policy (if applicable)
- Personal Instruments: Students may bring a personal ukulele, hand drum, or recorder. A limited number of extras are available.
Liability Waiver
- Agreement: Enrollment in camp constitutes agreement to all studio and liability policies.
- Release: You agree to release The Musician’s Den and its staff from liability for injuries or loss during camp.
